My friend owns a 2002 Speed Six Cerbera, i know this may be a long shot but it is leaking water and overheating but the temperature remains fine whilst driving. Can anyone direct me towards what the problem may be.

Thanks,

Chris

Do you mean its overheating and loosing water when its idling but not when its driving? Do the cooling fans work and where does the water come from. The engine could stay cooler driving, as the air flow could keep it cooler, but stopped there's no air flow so it will overheat. We need more info.

If it's leaking water , it will not be able to pressurise and will boil sooner.

Need more info to help, like where is the water coming from? If it is out of the filler bottle, it could be just needing a new cap or something much more serious.

Provided it has not got air con fitted you can check the condition of the rad by sticking your head under the front of the car. Rads, hoses and caps are main culprits as far as I am aware.

Check oil is not emulsifying, or water droplets on dipstick. If it is, stop driving it and get it properly checked out

Occassionally the rad/pipes can form cracks that only open when very hot. So if the air cooling while moving is sufficient, the crack stays closed and you get no leaks.

That said, it ought to be easy to spot with the car stationary!!
