Sad day to see the most beautiful Purple Cerb disappearing down the road at the hands of another. Its been the most exciting car I have ever owned and to those who said "Purple is not my thing" All I can say is The Purple one never broke down on me and in terms of running costs apart from average servicing costs and some new clutch seals it cost me less than most cars I've ever owned.

This forum is fanfeckingtastic !! I have enjoyed the banter and terrific advice found on here and when the housing market picks up and I can sell a few properties again I will be back. Might even look for another Purple one again.

In the meantime look out for the new transport

I have a confession to make though - I'm colour blind

The cerb went to Norfolk so you southerners need to look out for it although I'm convinced it has a cloaking device because it was never in the "spotted" section.
The replacement isnt an "R" so obviously not as fast but much more usuable on a daily basis. The Cerb is a fantastic car but I just couldnt see it being used every day now that winter is fast approaching and to be honest I just couldnt afford to keep two cars.
The deal wasn't too bad - didnt get £10k but I did ok. It was still a bargain and could easily have stood a change of colour respray. - thats one of the many mysteries during the selling process - somebody would buy a car of the "right" colour and happily pay £4k more only to have it break down. Unbelieveable!!!!

I have no doubt that when things pick up I will be back - not bothered if its a 4.2 or a 4.5. Even a Speed 6 would be considered - but PURPLE ?????

Mixi.Just out of interest.Where did you get the white reflectors from on the XK??.I tried every where when i had one,and couldnt find them any where.
