Sad day to see the most beautiful Purple Cerb disappearing down the road at the hands of another. Its been the most exciting car I have ever owned and to those who said "Purple is not my thing" All I can say is
The Purple one never broke down on me and in terms of running costs apart from average servicing costs and some new clutch seals it cost me less than most cars I've ever owned.
This forum is fanfeckingtastic !! I have enjoyed the banter and terrific advice found on here and when the housing market picks up and I can sell a few properties again I will be back. Might even look for another Purple one again.
In the meantime look out for the new transport

Tara folks - its been emotional

A lot of us must be similar minded as i have been looking for a type R as well. Not as a replacement as such but for a more refined day to day driver including winter use. If i could get a manual i would have one tomorrow.
It is great to get the Cerb out as often as possible but for company miles and site visits it is not that practical. That said i only have to look at the pick-up and i get bored before i go any where!
Any way good luck, i dont think it will be long before you are back!!

all the best with your new car
do you know who has bought your cerb? is he a pher? would be nice to keep them all here in one place
Not sure if the new owner is a PHer to be honest. He lives in Norfolk so cant imagine there will be too many Purple ones in that neck of the woods.
The XK is a lovely car and I've always liked the styling but for sheer kick in the pants all out exciting nothing comes close to the Cerb. I'd like to think I'll be back at some point.
Gonna lurk around here for a while
