hi guys just picked up this cerb http://search.autotrader.co.uk/es-uk/www/cars/TVR+...

my second TVR first being a chim 4.5 did 10k in it never let me down sold with just under 100k on the clock.

i no that there had been some talk on hear about the car and the add so just to answer some of the questions.

the dealer was a very nice chap however he did not no alot about the cars in general and did not seam that bothered if it sat in the corner of his lot for ever more!!

after a number of calls to try to arrange a viewing i finaly got there and the car was in the corner with a plastic cover over it.not been washed in what looked like months filthy inside etc.

took him a good 15 mins to remember how it starts.

any way long and short of it under the dirt it cleaned up well only needing some minor paint (stunning BMW silverstone blue) and a repair to the drivers seat. full history and old mot's too. turns out been just 2000 miles in last 3years what i crime!!

took it off his hands for a good price and im thrilled with it.

will try and post some pics of it looking good soon.

let me no what u guys think and im sure ill have a few questions soon.

Congrats on the purchase (dare I say brave purchase). Looks like a good price and if you got it for less then even better, 2k in last 3 years does ring alarm bells though as they hate sitting around these cars. Welcome thumbup

Well. You got it for a good price. And i suppose, you have a bit in reserve, for when it goes wrong.I will suspect that a few problems will rise to the surface over the next few months, due to the lack of use it has had.Dont take this as a negative post. But Cerbera,s and cars in general need to be used. Its doing the car no good by sitting idle.Any way good purchase.Enjoy.thumbup

Good luck with it thumbup, price seems OK, let's hope it does not bankrupt you with the running and servicing costs. Generally Cerberas like to be used, rather than left lying around unused for months.....

Wow rapid responce. thanks guys as we speek all is well i no what your saying about the lack of use ill be sending it for a full service and a good check soon. my chim with 90 odd k on the clock was so much better to drive than a lot of the low milage stuff so using them is good.

will keep you all posted

Yep, drive it as often as you can and be perpared to sort some niggles... but even then you may have landed yourself a true bargain!! biggrin

On a somewhat serious note: check the condition of the fuel lines in the engine bay now - if there's any doubt at all, have them replaced. It gets really hot in there because of the big V8 heating element wink and the fact that fibreglass doesn't conduct heat very well which means rubber lines degrade a lot quicker than they would in a regular motor, and unfortunately GRP burns rather quickly. frown

The only thing to remember though,is in the maintainance dept, its not a Chimaera. The Cerb requires extra TLC.

IMO any Cerb should be worth £12k all day long, that gives you a serious buffer for niggles etc.

To answer the earlier question, the software can be had from here:

Car looks okay, always a worry, but assuming it started ok after all that time, that's surely a good sign?
