What is it with these bloody clutches/clutch parts. Why dont they last?

Already had fingers go twice, now its the bloody slave. It was changed 12 months ago when the fingers went only 4000 miles ago. Pulled it out of the garage. Fluid level down and pool of fluid under car. All my mates and family say get rid. Sometimes I wonder if I should. Problem is, when they are running, theres nothing that comes close. Just wish I didnt like cars. Wish I'd got a hobby that was cheap....such as morris dancing.

i'd question their motives. my experience has been:

-mates 'cause yours is faster than theirs
-wife wants a new kitchen etc. etc
-kids want everything

Hang in there fella!

2xslave + 1xfingers for my car in 3 yrs.

You have our sympathy if not your family's. They see your anguish and try to be helpful rolleyes. The simple facts are: great car, shyte clutch. Why can't we have an external slave and activation lever like other cars I wonder. I'd buy that conversion next time my slave goes.

now might not be the best time to mention AA warranty?

yes

Missus has taken to branding me a selfish playboy, spending all my pennies on the car.rolleyes

Apart from being plump and balding, I have still spent less than I would on a brand new Mondeo, so label does not fit too well. Women!

No problems. Glad i've got it. Its the best thing I ever did for the car. They paid out both times in the past. I know it only goes a little towards the cost (£475), but it helps.

My car is in now getting a clutch and fly wheel after only 4 months and less than 1000 miles. it was fitted just before i got it so i assume it was fitted wrong in the first place, but now with a specialist so hope it lasts longer this time.

Mine was fitted with a specialist but that has nothing to do with it in my case. Its just the design/whatever as it seems a common occurance on cerbera's. I've had my car 5 1/2 years and done 24000 miles (while i've had it). I'm on my 3rd clutch (which includes the original one when I bought it) and it will be my 4th slave.
