Hello all,

Have an annoying little ticking noise in the engine bay - nothing serious but would like to rectify it.

An indi once told me that a servo valve in the fuel line would correct this. Has anyone had this done, or is my memory poor and I'm talking rubbish?

Cheers

Perhaps your indi was talking about fitting a fuel accumulator, which is a gadget that can be fitted in the fuel line to absorb pressure spikes when the injectors open and close. Usually this would be used to ensure that all the injectors flowed consistently rather than to reduce noise. How much noise are you talking about? You would usually be able to hear the injectors with the bonnet up at idle but I'd be astonished if you can hear them with the bonnet down and driving along.

Check the circular jubilee clip things that hold the purple induction pipes in place. A couple of mine where loose, and tapping against the scuttle panel. 2 minutes to fix.
