I am trying to use the diagnostic software on my 4.5 Cerbera (99-T). I have the software, and the cable, however I cannot locate where to plug this is on the ECU. I've read all the posts on here and there is no connection inside or outside of the ECU box.

Form the service receipts I have, it appears to have had a new ECU in 2002 due to a circuit burnout, and also there is a receipt to "extend diagnostic cable". Anyone know what this could be located??

I have 4 wires coming out of the ecu, a big thick one going up into the dash, 2 smaller ones - each with a 3 pin connector, and a medium thickness one going up into the dash.

I have searched, under seats, under the dash, in the boot and everywhere else and cannot find anything. I've tried following the 2 cables that go up into the dash but without taking the dash off doubt I can follow them any further.

Anyone got a similar set-up?

Cheers

are you sure out of the two three pin connectors one isnt 3 pi and the other 2 pin? that would be most usual. the 3 pin one is the diags lead

Well the earlier cECUs had a 9-pin D connector INSIDE the case. The later ones, slightly smaller and a little bronze in colour, have no connector.

The serial data is there however, on a couple of pins in the large main connector. I connected a short cable to these with a D connector on the end, and I connect a longer one when I need to use it.

Someone may have done this with yours. From memory, I don't think mine has a 'medium' thickness cable - so it might be worth tracing that cable up inside your dash to see where it goes.

Someone else will probably pipe up more definitively, but maybe that's something to go on, on a gloomy Sunday afternoon!
