Hello all,

Light hearted post.

Very good product by the way, little brush is very handy.

Anyway, just noticed it's endorsed by TVR and there's a picture of a CERB on the box.

Did TVR endorse any other products?

Does the CERB appear on any other such products?

Cheers

+1. Isn't it basically diluted Sulphuric acid?

Erm, powder coated wheels aren't lacquered surely?

I thought it was a problem if you have chips in the paint (it gets underneath the paint and it peels off more).

I bought some a few years ago. Used it on my Mum's golf as the wheels were brown (she never cleaned them and rode the brakes quite a lot) it worked fantasticly! Used it on my Racing Puma just to see how clean i could get them and although it cleaned them up well i did notice that from then on it was a lot harder to keep them clean due to it stripping all the polish off them and pitting the surface! They turned into a matt finish which held brake dust very well! Not used it since and i only would on really bad wheels and I'd make sure it was washed off quickly and thoroughly!

I presume it's like any other wheel cleaner (traffic film remover)

As said, don't leave it on more than a couple of minutes & put some water on the wheels first so it's not on them neat.

I went to take the works van to the local car wash once & could smell the TFR from 20 yards away..... Ended up washing it myself smile

Tends to make plastic bumpers lose all their colour & fade

I've heard on polished wheels that you should wax them after to give them a bit of protection, and I don't think I'd ever use it on chrome wheels (not that I can ever see me having chrome wheels).

Almost on the same subject, a new "5-star" car wash opened here last week. I went along as it raved on about how good the de-mosquito-age and alloy wheel clean was.

So I had a go and guess what .....

wink

muck off is the product to use thumbup used it for years never had any problems and very little elbow grease required.

Then use Rim Wax to seal the wheel, expensive but it works, generally can just hose off the muck after using rim wax.

Trust me, Top products yes

Used wonder wheels for 8 years on my Cerby now and have no problem with the wheels at all, I put it on to clean the brake dust off and then wash off with soap and water, been great for me.

I use Meguiars wheel brightener, I dilute it down, and it shifts pretty much everything.

I use Autosmart Tardis to get rid of the tar spots.

Jetseal on the alloys, needs a couple of coats, but has lasted all summer on the Megane, pretty much rinse brake dust off.
