The instructions that came with my clutch from Clever Trevor said tighten one turn at a time to 33 lb/ft.

Best of luck with it! Are you fitting a new slave cylinder as well?

Have a look at Mad Mark's guide. I'd suggest you do the bolts up in opposing pairs.

Ah I have found it on Clevor Trev's site Cheers. It might help me to make it a bit easier!

If you need any help just drop me a msg. I've done quite a few now LOL
I Cant remember if I put the torque settings in the guide or not!!

These are copied from the AJP8 book
Slave allen keys x4 = 15ft lbs
Clutch cover/assembly bolts = 25ft lbs
Bellhousing to gearbox = 50 ft lbs
Gearbox to Bellhousing = 50 ft lbs
Lambdas = finger tight, then a further 180deg.

As Steve says tighten at opposites, working your way round gradually to apply even pressure.

If C.T. suggests different than the above then go with what C.T. say.

Thanks Mark

Had a look and found it very helpful, and it saves taking out the gearbox. My son David used to work at Dream Machines and he said that it was a pig of a job, but they used to take the whole box out and with the use of lever bars!

Thanks for the offer of advice. Hope I will not need it!

I have heard that some dealers do use bars or clamps to pull the manifolds away from each other to help remove the gearbox.
My main concern with this is the stress it may cause to the welds further up the manifold. They are a common point for cracks to appear so would rather treat them with some care.
Maybe being a little cautious but then thats me!!
