Low speed misfire
Discussion
Since repairing the exhaust manifolds have noticed a low speed misfire under 2000rpm when
accelerating hard, gentle acceleration and steady speed is fine. The car idles fine, and above 2k rpm goes like it should. The car has new HT leads and up until now has run very well over the 9000miles we've had it. I imagine a coil pack fault would be there throughout the rev / load range.
Have been thinking along the lines of low speed fueling being upset by the lack of leaks in the manifolds, but now don't know which way to go to solve it. I'm reluctant to change lambda's or if the fueling can be reset, if that is the problem. As yet I don't have a lead for the diagnostics (or the laptop to run it on). The cars a 98 4.2.
Any words from the wise?
