hi all
i was taking the battery out for a charge and managed to break the small round connector on the side of the terminal connector (please excuse my ignorance of correct names for parts). its the small 'o' shaped connector bolted onto the side of the main positive connector. any body know what its for and if its safe to start without it?
cheers

Im not absolutely sure what your meaning hear. On my car (97), the +ve battery terminal has two wires that come off it- the big one being the power to the starter, and the smaller feed being (amoungst other things) the ecu power supply. This smaller wire on my car, bolts onto the +ve terminal connector with a crimped on ring connector- I take it this is what you've broken off? If so, then its not that its going to be especially dangerous to try to start the car, more that it would just be pointless- cos it won't!
Can you post a picture of what it is that you broke?
