super unleaded?

In trying to do the right thing by my trusty cerb. I always put super unleaded in the tank. now there was a report on the news a few weeks back that said in test by RAC they found little or no difference between reg. and super but they only said mentioned Deisel not petrol.The only place near me that sells Super unleaded is Shell, if i have to put reg. in elsewere it feels lumpy on tickover, and sounds different when i floor it. Is this just in my head or does anyone else notice a difference? perhaps someone has seen difference on a dyno.

There was a previous thread on here, also a magazine article that had shell super unleaded coming out top, ( +20hp)
I always use shell, although ASDA super is also reputedly ok.

Mine runs like a bag of spanners if i dont put super-unleaded in it!

I've never tried normal unleaded so cant say. I always try and go for Shell V power or Tesco super unleaded which are 99 ron. Other super unleaded is only 97/98 ron.

The tests may have been performed on cars set up for Reg., if so, Super will make little difference; our cars are set to run on Super so putting in Reg. will make a big difference imho.

All the cars I have had over the last few years run better on Shell V-Power.

I also use Tesco 99 and it too seem to perform OK.

I did put UL in the Cerb to get me home once, but took it easy and did not notice any problems at "normal" speeds!

When is this BP Ultimate 102 coming out?

Is a section in my handbook stating the engine is designed to be run on super unleaded 98ron so I've always stuck with it
