Real dealer prices
Discussion
I'm starting to look around at some of the Cerbs on dealers web sites, both franchise and independents for an impending purchase early next year. There appears to be massive differences in similar cars, even within the franchise dealer network.
Question I have is what experience do people have in terms of negotiating the final price - i.e. does a £30k in a TVR franchise dealer end up going for £30k, or do they usually drop to a more reasonable figure. Same goes for the independents.
Any advice or comments greatly appreciated.
BTW - I'll be spending c.£25k on a 4.5 - hence the reason for looking around the £26 to £30k mark

I paid top whack for mine from the TVR dealer and knew I could of got it approx £3K less if bought privately or through an independent. They didn't drop but gave me a good price on the part ex.
I reckon it's hard to drop a dealer on the screen price cos they're sort after & reckon they know they're gonna lose money/break even on the "Bringing back cos I've got this problem" policy, I feel for these franchise's sometimes.
You're gonna lose money as soon as you take it from the dealer (like any motor) & I had an independent looking out for me which would have saved sh$t loads but it all comes down to seeing the one you want and if it costs more than you budgeted, then julesy, this is the car to do it with

Have you tried giving Rob at findasportscar.com a ring?
For a fixed fee he will find you the right car at the right price. He will help with the haggling of the price, will travel the country on your behalf looking at any cars you suggest and stops you from buying the first car you see.
He helped me buy mine and saved me a packet in the process

Alans Cerbera only managed to last 5 days at Fernhurst cause I was on holiday otherwise it would have been sold the day it arrived!
Cheers for the cerbie Alan
and you still can't have it back!
Fernhurst gave me a good deal with my trade-in and were very helpful. Would recommend them any day.
