Hi,

I have a strange electrial problem with my Cerb.

The starter only makes "tick tick tick" but would not start the engine. I can see that the car dose not get engough electical power. if I open the door the windows are going down very slowly. I tried to start the car with jump leads and it starts fine everything seems to be ok.

I charged the battery, which is only 12 month old and it was never realy down.

I used 2 different battery charger and both showed me that the battery is full.

I thing I have some corrosion somewere in the electrical system, I checked the pole of the battery but they are fine.

Where should I look for the corrosion? or is there an other problem?.

Thanks for your help guys and soory for my english but I´m a German TVR Driver.

Regards

Johannes

Your battery may appear to be full but could have a problem with it giving a reduced ampere output, best thing is to borrow another battery and try that, there are a number of threads on here about batteries.
A similar thing happened to me but the motor would crank and wouldnt start, i have since purchased an Optima Redtop and it will start in the coldest of conditions after a week on its own with no problems.
Failing that you should check earthing points on the car and as no doubt others will tell you, check the big fuse.

The battery earth lead connection is inside the front nearside wheelarch where the angled outrigger pipe joins the the main chassis rails,if its corroded it may be the answer.
