Hi All

Well it was time for me to get my Cerbera through our first MOT together today.

FAILURE!! Emissions were way off, even with brand new cats in it.
Last time I saw a CO reading that high was on a duff Sierra CV carb!

So she now resides at Austec and I had to get a "Train" home!
Must be 8 years since I last got a train! Crap ain't it!

Paul had said she was running very rich during the Charity day roller run.
So a full 12,000 service and MOT is booked in, but Paul's mapping kit is at the cleaners or something in Italy, but hope it gets back soon!!

Me is thinking of joining the +400 club!! Any advice??

i don't think many of them would've passed coming out of the factory. mine has never passed emissions.

Mine has on occasion been marginal, but has always got through. The ECU should trim the map to an extent which should help with emissions, but perhaps the map is so far out it can't compensate?

If the engine is in good health and tuned correctly then every Cerb (with cats on) should pass an emmissions test.

A tweek with the throttle pots with the help of a lap top will make sure all is good before you take it for an MOT. Never fails!

You'll need them to be hot to really be effective, give it some before you hand it in for MOT. smile

Got a call today and it seems one of the throttle pots was duff!

So looks like that FULL TVR MAIN DEALER service history was not not realy worth much in the end. Been like it since I got it in March and only had a service a few months earlier.

Seems that one of the manifolds is cracked and needs repair!
One of the rear drive boots also need replacing.

They have also noticed the slighty warped front disk.
NEW front disks were fitted in March when I bought it!
Only 4000 miles!!! Needs skimming!

Must be something wrong to cause that so soon???

Cams definately need doing!!!
Oh and that broken cigar lighter needs to be fixed! Ha-Ha!

So I said OK do the lot get Paul to re-map it and lets see if it can keep up with Donny Mac! tongue out

I've already spent over 1500 notes on new shocks and S/S exhaust!
Who said I only needed 3K a year to keep her running! laugh

Apparently we need to spend more to revitalise the economy!
I'm doing my bit lads!!

Sounds like you might have a sticky caliper. Mine was sticking when I first bought it, however a trip to the Nurburgring freed it up quite a bit. Either a few hundred for a new or recon caliper or you can get new piston seals for them.

funny thing is that I went for our MOT today and i was affraid of the same problem... some time she gives me the impression that she is spitting out liquid fuel... sometimes black liquid is comming out of the exhausts.

but that was not the problem... I had no normal light just big and small ones...
