Just came across Phil's autojournal on the BossCerbera.
Journal 1
Journal 2

A good little write up, nice to know the history behind it.

Given that (I believe) the Cerbera is geared for 200mph, can it be assumed the Boss would crack that?

440lbs/ft of torque - 500bhp!

Just how quick is it? I'd love to see it in the flesh (and on track)

Stunner...

Also, how many 5 litres were made? I thought there were a few, but I assume the Boss has a few bits that have been 'tinkered' with.

Stunning. No really.

Er, kin quick biggrin

Having travelled many k's of miles alongside the Boss I can testify it's breathtakingly quick. And sounds just like you imagine it will.

Epic.

The most desireable - not just Cerbera - but TVR?

Maybe?

I'm just playing devil's advocate here so please just humour me for a minute smile.... but where does the 'line' begin on the 'b'stardisation of a Cerb' ?

For example the BC was designed with a dry sump, does that in essence make it not a 'true' AJP as it should have a wet sump, even though the BC was designed like that and came from the factory on spec, like that? The vents on the bonnet are for forced induction and therefore necessary for that particular AJP unit to function at it's best and came from the factory like that. Is that wrong if 'that' AJP needs it? As the Boss came out of the factory exactly like it is today, surely it is still a 'true Cerb' ?

Personally I've kept my own Cerb as original as possible, however I do have a 4.2 heads atop a 4.5 block, after-market suspension rather than the TVR supplied shocks and de-cats/sports pipes instead of cats and a standard back box. Does that make my Cerb even with it's original 16" wheels, walnut dash and Fiesta lights not a 'true cerb'.. ?

I know this is an emotive subject and don't want to wear a well worn path, particularly the arguments regarding eng (LS/Mitsi/AJP etc etc) on the whole issue, I'm just interested as to peoples views on what constitutes an 'AJP8' and where this 'line' is.

Have a couple of smilies to be going on with....angelbeerhippy

No idea to answer that. I'm sure all you've said is true. The line I was talking about was an purely aesthetic one smile.

i'm pretty sure the accel figures for the bosscerb were faster than the figures for the press cerbs, which in themselves were probably as good as they could have been, so it is a fast car. [forest gump] and that's about all i have to say about thaaaaaat [/forest gump]

Ah, ok.

I'm bored and it's Friday....so what to make of pre '00 cars that have had the post '00 headlamp conversion done? It is an aesthetic change from the original pods..... (personally I prefer the originals but there's threads galore on the subject)

Or are you basically just saying the gun turrets on the BC are fugly? wink

I think it has been on a rolling road - I guess at Trackcar or Surrey ?
I assume the results werent earth shattering.
Ultimately it doesnt matter that much - it is an amazing spec cerb, with fantastic performance. It must be higher bhp and torque than a RR spec.
Since the Boss was produced there have been some great improvements in bhp and torque thanks to Trackcar and others. So I guess there are many cars on the heels of the boss.
If I had to choose one cerb to own then top of my list would be the Boss, bottom of the list would be the Phoenix.

Love to see what sort of forced induction, and how it was implimented. Very nice V shaped hole in the middle of the engine with a rotating jackshaft nearby to grab power from smile

This engine has no forced induction! What slvcrb is saying is about the "ram air" effect.
