Hi Russ - i can't confirm the answer to your question - but I know some people do have Optima batteries in their Cerberas.

However, in case you are anywhere near Biggleswade - I bought one on Tuesday from Saxongate Motorist Centre (good tyre place) - it's an 072 CCA 620. £62.

Any help?

The one you linked to definitely fits in my 4.5 and I'm almost certain that it's the same fitment for 4.2.
Sorted out my cold weather "place your bets" moments so far thumbup

I can also confirm that I have one just the same as that for my 4.5, it WILL fit the 4.2 as well. Expensive but bloody good, well worth the extra.

Don't know if any of you know this but it also helps the start motor last longer - the high CCA enables the starter when cold to spin quicker thus less strain on the starter motor and longer life.

Hi sonnylad,

I fitted one to my 4.2 about a month ago and it fits just fine. It's smaller than the battery I replaced and required a bit of padding to make the metal lip keep it solid, but no hassle at all really and it's a great battery, definitely worth the premium price..

Other choice would something from Odyssey, I have a PC1500 in my cerb. Same high cranking amps as the red top, but it can handle deep cycles too. Needed a bit of work to fit, but there's a PC1230 availale now that should fit easier.
