Top Speed of a Cerbera?
Discussion
Hi all, I've been checking online and there's so much on Cerb top speeds, so what is it in reality? The highest I've read is 196mph as standard although personaly, I bottled it at 130 on a private test track (lets call it test tracks yes Gents?lol) What proven top speeds have you done, or read about? Does anyone know what TVR quoted?
Cheers,
Andy

I have had mine 'off the gauge' several times. The first time I had an actual reading was with my Origin B2, that was on track at LM exiting Tetre Rouge and reaching 191 before having to brake for the first chicane. Then this year we recorded 194, again with the Origin, this time we were 'balls out' and it the car was packed to the roof with fishing tackle, camping gear and lots of plonk.
What i will say is at these speeds the noise is ear shattering and the Cerb feels like he's going to shake to pieces, vision becomes very blurred due the the bumps and yer spine feels like its going to burst through ones back. Christ knows what my or my passengers heart rate was....damn good fun though.

I was going to recommend you to give the answerWhat i will say is at these speeds the noise is ear shattering and the Cerb feels like he's going to shake to pieces, vision becomes very blurred due the the bumps and yer spine feels like its going to burst through ones back. Is the Cerbera a particularly slippery shape then? I find those speeds hard to believe for a car that 'at best' in standard trim gets 340bhp at the wheels, fair play to the car if it does, but the 500bhp M5 can only just hit 200mph
+ standard cars tend to be a fair way behind other marques at Vmax, are they not?

I dont reckon you'll see much more than 195mph. I worked it out a while ago and you'd need to pull beyond 7500rpm to get 200mph - something I dont reckon it'll do in fifth. Maybe one of the 440bhp+ ones at a push?
pva - Cerbs have done 179mph at Vmax repeatedly, not too bad for such a car - especially as those were probably sub 370bhp. They're not as accelerative as the 996TT's above 150 unfortunately, thats when thier superior power shows, drag wise I dont think they're bad, especially considering the relatively small frontal area... aero stability probably isnt that great - I dont think ours has ever been beyond 160mph though - so cant comment.
AFAIK none of the 400bhp+ Cerbs have managed to get to Vmax yet, excepting of course Brummies car - which is neither close to standard nor did it have the gearing (revs?) at the time. One of the stronger 400bhp+ cars would probably do pretty well, I keep promising to get ours over there, but I dont think we'll get the chance before it has a full body-off rebuild.
Bloody quick cars all the same.

Mine needs 7000rpm to do 200mph, and i have a bigger diff (3.08 ratio), i reckon it will now do it, be close though. Look at what at what a good 4.2 did at FT was it 163mph? mine was 179.5mph at the same point with 576bhp i kept it nailed to see 200mph on the clock (twice), i will be over 600bhp now with the new mods, but you guys would be needing over 7500rpm? what power are you making at those giddy heights? I'm sure more techy people could tell you what BHP vs what Co/eff you would need to do it.
