Took advantage of the quiet roads yesterday and did my 60 miles round trip to work and back in the Cerb, considering it never got above freezing all day and the ice warning light was red, both in the morning and evening the car performed faultlessly and was very comfortable, even the heater did a fair job after a about 10 minutes or so.

The first part of the journey was on frozen country roads, which is fine as long as you remember to always feather the throttle when pulling away and don’t give it massive revs its just as controllable as any other modern car. Only thing I found a bit of a strain is at night on the motorway, I had forgotten what a pain it is being blinded by 4x4s from behind, your so low in a Cerb you take the full brunt of their gas discharge lights - although guess this would be a problem in any low slung sports car.

I did a bit of a winter hoon yesterday too, i took the 3yo out in the sun for an hour but as the sun went down, the temp light went from green to red, the roads started getting a little greasy and we had a bit of unintentional fun whilst exiting an island.....much grinning....These cars should be driven all the time just so you dont get caught out! Fantastic biggrin

That's an interesting thought, as you say almost certainly illegal, but I wonder just how reflective it would be?

Could always put an led scrolling message ticker in the rear window, "You are blinding me you cock!"

Drove up to the Thunderball in the Cerb last year. The conditions were decidedly iffy with the slush of the midlands having frozen in the evening giving very little traction either braking or accelerating. Despite this the Cerb took it in her stride. Amazing car!

I've been driving mine around a bit and the weather has never got above freezing but the car has performed faultlessly. Usually I'd be on other transport but I lost headlights on the motorbike (traced to a broken wire under the tank - a day to find and fix), the MX-5 has lost all dash lighting and the Primera has broken/unbonded it's drivers window again!

Thanks heavens for my reliable car biggrin

Same thing happened the other day while I was giving a workmate a trip in her - he loved it too.

Have used mine daily for the last week or so and done about 500 miles. The ice light has been on at all times (though a combination of all three colours). There's been a hairy moment or two when I've pushed it, but keep things nice and smooth and it's well behaved. Gotta say the fuel consumption has impressed me on a couple of long runs too.

Does the ice light ever go blue? I thought it did.

Yep - just the three colours above. Might go blue if it was taken to the Antarctic though!

I decide it needed a run out today.

About 4 miles up the road, gave it a bit of 3rd gear and right foot and lit up the rears!

After about 30 yards I realised it was going sideways!

A bit of sawing on the steering wheel as I lifted off gently and all was well again, and I had a HUGE grin on my face!

Should I have been more shook up??
Perhaps all these LemSips I've been taking help keep the heart beat under control?

Oh! the green light was flashing a bit!
Rest of the run out was er "Under Control"! smile
