Q for the forum: in 1999 the Cerbera's (at least as far as I know) changed the ventilation in the dashboard from a string of holes at the edge of the windscreen to 3 big vents on top of the dash. Which of the two systems work best in terms of defogging windscreen and doorwindows?

thx

I have 2 big vents on top of the dash and they work superbly (along with heated front window) cleared a window with water on inside (condensation) wink in about 3 mins.

Mine's 2002 and I think only has 2 large vents, seems to work perfectly.

Irrelevant detail when you're purchasing a cerbera though.

Both systems work OK

I'd say the later, two big vents system, probably just edges it. It seems slightly better all round, in the fact that you have certain vents for hot air & others just for cold air. Where the older systems vents are used for both hot & cold.

The little vents are rubbish in my experience. I have persistent fogging problems at this time of year. Only on the drivers side - even when traveling 2 up.

I have blocked alternate holes on the pasenger side to get more air through the remaining holes which has helped a little, but I fear it is time to replace the blowers. I have already refurbished them once.

I'd agree with that, and there's not much wrong with my blowers. It takes an absolute age to demist. In fact I'm usually only just clear by the time I am switching the engine off in the works car park.
