i'm sure this must have been discussed before but....whats the story on the 4.2 cerb with only 850 miles on in the classifieds? seems to have been for sale ages?

Too risky being stood so long?

It's got an 01 speed six engine in it. Looking at the price & condition, I think it would suit a collector or a museum piece.

Certainly wouldn't want to pay the £15K premium & use it as a car smile

Agreed, with that kind of mileage, it's become a more of a museum piece. Would make a lovely garage Queen silly

The issue with it is that its not been used, not only is it the fact its got an early speed six engine which IMO would need `recommisioning` before use there will be a lot of seals(clutch & brake etc.) that will start to leak under use.I know this from past experience,my Cerb had only done 500 miles in two years when i bought it,the clutch slave&master seals went, the radiator started to leak & the steering rack leaked and had to be rebuilt. If someone wanted to use it it would need fully recommisioning, not a cheap job on a Cerb!

It doesn't matter it's a speed six, no car, brand, or engine configuration likes to sit without being used. Seals and all mechanical components suffer badly when not moved and lubricated

I saw that ad' when I was looking and contacted the sellers.

It had been on ebay and the ad' had been cloned by the scammers!
They said it had 26,000 miles, but had had new speedometer and other stories etc..
The variation in advertisements got me suspicious.

The guy I contacted said it had been bought new by his boss, the owner of the company.
He had used it for the indicated mileage and then been so busy with work had never used it again and just left in the garage.
He than asked he people at work to sell it for him.

No even run in yet, so might be a diamond?
Problem with S6 was the owners not so much the engine, or so I now hear??
