Does anyone know the rim width of the rear 17" RL7s?

Equally, what are the favoured tyres out there at present? We've loved Toyo T1R's in the past, so we're planning on going back to them - but just wondering if anything else is worth considering... we're not interested in any list 1b's (R888's/ other cut slicks) - despite the cars usage on track/hillclimb/sprint/speedtrials, its also an only car - so its used come rain or snow. hehe

Hi,

I am pretty sure that they are the same as the fronts 8.5?

I am running 255 40 17's rear and 235 40 17's front this year - just got to see if they fit in the arches now!

I also had 255 40 17's rear and 235 40 17's front.
Now bought spiders 255 35 18 rear and 225 35 18 front.

Cad - they're pretty standard sizes for RL7s - I am just wondering if theres any scope to go wider on the rear, which wont be possible with 8.5s. Jes is more likely to hit problems as he'll be fitting R888's with a more square sidewall and as a result, wider fit tyre. smile

I suspect I may well be modifying the inner wheel arch in the near future

Jes, I think you'll find they are 8" wide, the fronts and rears are the same. Just replaced mine and had a good look.
