I believe its M76, but I'm not near the diff at the moment to check. smile

If you're looking to get hold of Aussie Pat for the gearset, all I did was write down the info on the diff's casting marks, theres a couple of info tags with serial numbers on. Pat can cross reference these to the Holden part numbers.

But like I said in my email to you, don't order anything till you've got the old one apart, as if you break anything (more than likely wink) Pat can supply all the bits, assuming you are taking it apart yourself that is??

To take it apart yourself you'll have to make up some special tools for undoing the adjusters, V tricky.

If you are getting someone else to do it, I'd recommend you send it to John Reid at Grantura Eng (Redman Racing). John has all the parts in stock and does a rebuild service. He's help me out a couple of times now when I've broken stuff. banghead

Thanks Richard.

If it is the M76 it could be weak link for the LS engines? If you look at www.spiceraxle.com.au it is listed for a lot less horsepowers and torque than your engine (and even mine) has.

I wouldn't get too hung up on the power ratings, its the same as the diff in the Monaros and Dodge Vipers, there's a Monaro with a genuine 1000bhp running this diff as a daily driver (see the monaro forum harryOZ) and Brum hasn't had any issues with his and thats certainly had some luvin' smile

I think that a lot of it will come down to the vehicle weight as well. If you're just spinning the wheels, it doesn't matter how many bhp or lbs.ft you're doing it with!
