Pops and Bangs

Evening all, I am a new cerb owner after coming over from a Chim. Just serviced it up and had a few bits and bobs sorted. Very, very different to the chim (more exciting) A fantastic drive and a family car to boot(that is what I told my missus)

Anyway the car has a sports exhaust and de-cats. It pops and bangs like absolute crazy esp on the overrun, not complaining at all but is that what they all do?

Yea its part of being a Cerb owner get it real hot then change down at night you will get flames as well especially good on a downhill in a little sleepy village as I read on here once "makes dogs run, litle children cry and old ladies wet themselves??" Lol

I fitted the same exhaust set-up on the advise of an ex TVR tech. My poor mate was stood behind me when I started it for the first time and I thought he'd had a heart attack! When I went down the road for the first time, I had to pull over, ring my tech mate and ask him what was wrong with it!! His advise to me is the same I'll pass to you. You'll get used to it, but nobody else will! Oh.... do you get on well with your neighbours? If you do, it won't last long! Enjoy....

It's the pops & bangs that make you drive around with the windows wide open even on a freezing cold day....... you'll grow to love em!!!!
My daughter says it me or the car or both of us just showing off & tries to drown us out with the radio!

Must admit to having both windows down yesterday in the rain looking for an excuse to drive through various tunnels!

It's all to do with valves and fuel and things not shut until needed to be etc etc.

Aint got a clue?

I always used to find that Tesco 99Ron would make it pop and bang more

Strange thing is, sometimes you find yourself deliberately trying to make the car do it. Low gear, high revs, foot off, bang, bang, bang, lolol

I didn't realise flames were possible, will keep a look out

I had just filled with Tesco 99 RON also so maybe something in that. Even though I have only had it a month it did seem to go mad following filling up.

What do u mean sometimes I spend my whole time with windows down finding tunnels and narrow streets with nice high buildings?? Still a kid at 54 but thats what they do to you??

ok, my 4.3 Bv chim pops and bangs nicely, but cant say ive ever noticed or been told about flames...how do you get these to happen ? purely out of interest of course, not like ill try it once the darkness falls tonight
