Cerbera v's Tuscan

Considering a change of car and thinking of changing from my 2004 4.2 Cerb to a Tuscan possibly early MK2 version.
Anyone owned both? If so which do you prefer and why?
I'd say honours are even between the two, it's all down to the open top of the Tuscan, and the versatility of the Cerbera (and the arguably better AJP engine)Anyone owned both? If so which do you prefer and why?
Simple choice to make really.....I have two small children...do you?
I have both a Tuscan (Mk1 with Nitrons) and a Cerb (Sp6).
Tuscan
Pros - Goes round corners quicker, more 'chuckable', roof comes off, feels fast when you go fast, just two seats when you don't want to take the family.
Cons - Just two seats when you need to take the family, can get a bit much after an hour's driving.
Cerb
Pros - Get to use it more if you've got a family, easy to drive fast for long distances, less wind noise, you get to look at the engine without spanners.
Cons - Roof doesn't come off, probably easier to lose your licence in, doesn't feel quite as planted.
As far as exterior looks I think for me the Tuscan has the edge, especially from the front. But you have to love the Cerb's side profile. Interior wise I think I just prefer the Cerb, awesome dash, just wish there were fewer plastic switches.
If you swap you'll love the Tuscan...but still miss the Cerb. There's only one solution

That is a lover cerb. Did you not only just get it from the guy in Ireland? Not like it that much?
I love the car, this is my second Cerb, but thinking of a change. I've already had two offers for the car that would make me money but thats not the reason why I'm looking to change. Just looking for some advice from people who've have owned both.dirty boy said:

I own a cerb and very regularly drive my mates tuscan, we both agree that the cerb feels much more planted (not surprising due to its more absorbent damping and longer wheel base), so im surprised by your comment there. As you say though, the tuscan has a lighter feel and is more chuckable

hmm the tuscan im referring to is also fitted with nitrons. my cerb is on standard shocks. The Nitrons setup on this particular car is very stiff possibly more suited to track days, but on normal roads the car feels very unsettled, and definately not as planted. It may just be a matter of adjustment though

For me, the Tuscan is an outragous looking car, particularly the Series I front end..... but agree with the Cerb side profile! If you swap you'll love the Tuscan...but still miss the Cerb. There's only one solution

I'm new to TVRs having just bought my Cerb in January, but had spent most of 2008 building up to buying a Tuscan...... Chatsworth speaking to owners, religiously watching the cars and prices on PH, to the point that I had Rob Ingleby inspect one for me. Only when the seller wasn't moving on price, I came back to thinking about the Cerb again.
Reason? I have 2 small children, and also 3 motorbikes..... If I want to go fast on my own, take one of the bikes. Simple, except over the last couple of years time pressures mean that I've been using them less and less (most of yearly milage on a boys trip to Northern Spain via Portsmouth / Bilbou crossing - awesome roads in Northern Spain and Portugal, also Pyrannes - you guys would love 'em). I kinda figured that a Tuscan would end up with the same fate.....

Now I've got the Cerbera - LOVE IT!!!!! There's something quite illicit / perverse / two fingers to boring MPV driving twonks about turning up in the Cerb, then the whole family getting out. Even done a trip to IKEA...... so it's done it's stint as "practical family vehicle". Then took it out today, suposed to go straight to Chesterfield, but ended up going via Bakewell, Monyash, A515, Bakewell, Baslow etc etc etc - I'm just starting to learn about how to drive the Cerb, and thoroughly enjoying it.
But there's still that nagging thought that I'd love the SP6 and the Tuscan....... one day? But it would have to be YKB's solution.........
