Cerb V ferrari
Discussion
I went to silverstone on sat. morning, driving a ferrari 360. I made sure my cerb. was ready to drive so that I could go there In the cerb and drive the ferrari immediately afterwards, With an open mined I got in the car listened to the instructor did what I was told and on the first real opportunity I floored it, 2nd/3rd into 4th. when I got back to the center I asked the guy if they were in any way restricted?. he assured me they were not and that they were at full power straight from the factory. I may be wrong but hand on heart I felt that my cerb would have destroyed it on out right power and exhilaration. I wanted to be impressed but it was DULL. Best £10,500 I've ever spent.
Well it weighs a fair deal more and makes a little more power (than a 4.2) - what did you expect?!
Having said that, they are still a very fine bit of kit and, in standard form, a far better developed and more exploitable chassis than the Cerb.
Cerb's certainly are fantastic value for money atm, that's why I bought one - but, other than in outright performance figures, I don't really think that they are actually that comparable to a Ferrari.
Most post 348 Fezza's are genuinely useable, reliable and exploitable everyday cars. My Father and I share an old 308 and I have been lucky enough to drive a few 360s including a Challenge Stradale, a 550 and a 575. Whilst the Cerb is as fast as any of them, the build quality feels a couple of generations behind even our 308 and the later Ferrari's are exceptionally capable track cars straight out of the box.
My Cerb, on the other hand is a beast - a true two headed dog of Hades

I know exactly what you mean.
A friend-of-a-friend bought a Ferrari last summer and they turned up at my house and I got the opportunity to take it out for a spin.
We got out on an open road and I put my foot down and expected to be amazed ..... I wasn't.
The Cerbera feels like it is just so much more powerful.
The Ferrari is a stunning piece of machinery and I would love one but it's a hell of a lot of money for a "slow" car.

(Now I'll run and hide from all the Ferrari owners

).After a recent series of nutty cars the 308 has lost the "fast" appeal it had a few years ago. Having said that, it goes well enough (255bhp and about 1200 kgs), makes a fantastic induction noise and is a beautifully adjustable drive with far more steering feedback than the Cerb. It's also very refined, comfy and (dare I say it) reliable!
Totally differnet beasts really.

I have always wanted to own an F355GTS - best looking Ferrari IMHO However I can't help thinking I would be dissapointed with it after owning the cerb.
Went out in a friends 355 a few years ago (before I got a Cerb) and it was such a disappointment, really was hoping for more from inside but it didn't deliver. Afterwards we drove in convoy from Bracknell to Egham and I was watching for the amount of people who gave it a second glance, and I think it was more or less everybody. Seems to be a better car to be seen in than to actually drive! knight said:

When I went to drive the 360, I wanted to come away Feeling exhilarated and have that 'yea one day i'm having one' feeling. as it goes I felt nothing more than when I drove my mates Nissan 300 auto. The paddle shift seemed only to take away the important feel of total control that you get from a stick and clutch pedal. I'm not saying any of this to put ferarri down because I'm TVR through and through, because i'm not, but I just felt that the TVR has got a poor reputation for build and reliability, but It's got so much sole and I am glad to be one of the people who is lucky enough to experience it first hand. and feel as though.'I know something they don't know'.
also Wintrading your tiv seems to be a griff 500 which whilst it's a great car (and quite possibly the most evocative TVR ever - opening a can of worms here) is significantly slower than an AJP cerb and because of it's shorter wheelbase in standard form is less stable than a cerb when pushed through the twisty bits
