Water leak and thus its a non-runner?

Mine has a water leak, in heavy rain I can get 2-3" on the drivers floor, doesn't stop it howling into life at the touch of a button! biggrin

I reckon water leak into ECU causing major problems!

its says water leak but its probably head gasket problems causing the water system to pressurise and leak and pop hoses.

Do they mean water leaking in, which lets face it is pretty common or it's losing/using water which could be head gasket/warped heads and any sort of general nastiness. I have to imagine the later given the Non Runner status. Also have to doubt the mileage, no sh mentioned so my money would be on a speedo change at some point which with a now missing service history has been forgotten about - still cheap enough for sure and sounds like they just want to punt it on with no hassle so have taken it in as a p/ex.

I wonder if they would be interested in a time waster hehe

Edited to say : gah, beaten to it with the head gasket suggestion.

I guess it depends on the usual factors...

chassis
engine (watr leak)
service history (prooving mileage)
general condition
like i said - why the headlight conversion?
CAT D, C or not...

and thats without considering the usual stuff like tyres, mot, tax, interior, spec, etc, etc

maybe not such a bargain afterall...?

all this LS talk, its about time we came up with a name for converted cars isnt it...

Cerbless...cerb LS...

since its a chevvy engine...

Cerb - rolet
Chev - bera...

Hmmm....there will no doubt be some better suggestions!

As someone looking for a Cerbera to "drop an LS" into, that one is tempting but:

First its a Cat D Cerbera, to me in the "current environment" a cat D in relatively good running condition it should be no higher than £7k. Officially modifying a Cat D car is adding insult to injury - insurance is abit higher...

Then the fact that the car is sold as a non runner, it has any number of problems and most likely has a rotten chassis, so to me £6.5k is high, maybe if the seller could be negotiated down to £5-£5.5k would I think its worth it.

Hmmm ... Paul its your neck of the woods, could I persuaded you to cast an expert eye over this Cerbera?

I'm not sure, I am also in the area but have never seen it about...

I'd be taking a verrrrrrry good look at the back, something doesnt look right about the way the rear drivers side wheel is sitting in relation to the body.
