As the title says my diff is whining a bit. Only notices when the Missus is not in the car

From cold there is no noise then 1/4 mile up the road it will start. Goes again after a hard run, but it's irritating on the daily commute.

Replaced the oil, which was in good nick, but to no avail.

Definitely not brakes.

Drive shafts seem well loobed, as they move freely without any backlash, but have not pulled gators back to inspect.

Any pointers appreciated

Probably is the diff just starting to show signs of internal wear. Check that it's still tightly bolted in. If the noise is really irritating you then get it refurbed or changed, but based on previous experience if you can learn to live with it then you'll have more than a few more thousand miles life left in it.

Jules.

Mine's been whining for Six years.

I thought it was all part of the 'race car experience' biggrin

If it's getting you down, A sports exhaust should fix it smile

Like your style. It's not getting me down as such, but it distracts me from my unhealthy Engine noise paranoia
