The manual says: "The hot and cold air controls will illuminate red and blue respectively when in use". Mine are illuminated in red and blue all the time, making it particularly hard to work out if they're on or off (have to resort to trying to hear the fan spin up over the sound of the sports exhausts!). The blue LED for the aircon is also possibly the dimmest LED I've ever seen

Same on mine for the heater controls, except my car seems to be kicking out hot air all the time now, no matter how i twiddle the knob. I don't remember it being like that when i picked up the car, as I distinctly remember getting a bit chilly.

My aircon LED is shiny bright though.

i think they all do that, although i've not seen mine for that long now i've almost forgotten!! basically its down to listening for the fans switching them on and off alternately until you figure it out....how quaint!!

I'm sure it would have been soooo difficult to have a light that came on when the fans were running

far too difficult, well at least your biggest problem is trying to work out if your air con/heater is on/off how I wish i had that problem

Im sure it would be relatively simple to rewire the backlights for the switches so they come on when in use. Might try this if i get the time.

we did a little heater indicator for our car and fitted it in place of the ashtray. Its very bright and really easy to see - will get a piccy of it on here when I next have access to a camera.

the LEDs are soldered to the heater controller board. Good luck!
