Hi all,

Looking for a cheap cerbera for a project car. At the moment there is a 4.2 on here with a snapped head bolt. Does anyone know if this is likely to be able to be fixed with a re-build or is it likely to require a new block or head or both?

Just out of intrest how much does an AJP 8 engine go for, 4.2 or 4.5, anybody know of any? Either in good nick or re-buildable?

Thanks

Snapped bolt should be repairable. Drill it out and replace.

Not sure where you'd get a new stud from though.

I have an engine for sale if you decide to go that route..... wink

Thats not bad, has it had any work on it? Why are you selling it? Have you got the history of the engine, reciepts, service details and the like?

Bought as a spare to use in mine while I rebuilt my 4.5 but just never got round to it.

Came from DIYcerb's car (he's putting a LS engine in his) heard in running in the car before I bought it and all was rosey with it.

I may buy it for the same reason! Drop it in while i sort the broken one. Will be a couple of months though, selling my house at the moment, most of my disposable cash is being used for surveys and solicitors at the mo.

Cheers for the help, i'll get that cerb and go from there.

Should give the forum time to prepare for a zillion questions about re-building a 4.2!
