Hi folks. The Cerb (96 4.2, btw) has developed a habit of making a grinding noise when the engine's running and the clutch is depressed. Anyone else had experience of this? It's only intermittent and only happens when the clutch pedal is *fully* down. There's no sign of any crank movement so I'm guessing it's clutch release bearing, in which case...

Any useful pointers for gearbox removal and, given that it'd make sense to replace the clutch and slave while the box is out, any recommendations as to where i should be getting parts?

All help gratefully appreciated as ever thumbup

I've found that the release bearing tends to squeal until the clutch is lightly depressed. Perhaps you have a different problem than just the clutch release bearing? I'm not quite sure what you mean by 'any crank movement' in this context, can you explain further?

Sorry, I meant that there's no movement of the bottom pulley when the clutch is depressed, so I've ruled out the possibility of crank float.
