Cerbera Speed Six in Germany?
Discussion
Hi,
today we have had a meeting of the German TVR Car Club at the Central Garage in Bad Homburg. Actually there are 3 Guys with a Cerbera Speed Six in Germany and they dont have the German Homologation. They need some details for the homologation.
Does anybody know a Cerbera Speed Six with German homologation?.
There are some V8´s with German homologation including my Cerbera 4.2
Thanks
Johannes

Hi, sorry I dont know how it is in the nehterlands but in Germany it is difficult.
If there is the same car with German homologation than they can use the Data, but I do not know someone with a Speed Six Cerbera here in Germany. In the V 5 or VCA is not all the information for the German homologation.
Does anybody know a German Cerbera with Speed Six engine?
Thanks Johannes

Hi Olly, Hi Johannes (thanks for the paperwork of the 4.2).
I am one of the three Cerbera Speed Six owners in Germany.
Unfortunately that plan would not work out, since the German officials want to authorise exactly the car/engine combination. Sad, but true. Since there isn´t any available in Germany right now, we have to choose the hard and long way of single type approvals. At least when the first is done, the following ones should be easier.
I was sending an email to Ben Lang, who was quoted to me as the responsible person for homologation purposes at TVR, but i did not get any answer. (There is a TVR representative adress somewhere in London currently, there was one lady giving me the email adress of Mr. Lang. Tht same adress was given to me by the VCA as well.)
Regards,
Björn.

My German is pretty awful, but have you tried contacting TVR Deutschland ?
I suspect they have folded, but this is their site : http://www.tvr-deutschland.com/start.html
Christof was senior management for the company (possibly owner?), so he might be a useful contact to try & track down ?

Or try contacting the TVR Owners club and see if they can help you.

How do they registrate kitcars then??
Isn't there an alternative route over Belgium or something?
registration in belgium is very very expensive. first you pay a one off registration of about 2k and after yearly about 2k...Isn't there an alternative route over Belgium or something?
I would say just go to TVR Germany and ask them if they can help to find the needed info... they should be able to make a form with the needed info. just hope they like/want to help you.
AFAIK, the TVR-Deutschland story is dead, was last updated in 2007 and the domain is registered to a woman in Bochum, as DENIC tells me.
This week, right now as i hope, to be precise, there is a sound emission test going on, to classify the SpeedSix Cerbera for Germany. It is done in Hagen, where the former TVR general importer for Germany is located. The car is from a guy I got to know over the german TVR forum. It is the red SpeedSix you can find on Youtube, which he bought last year. If this goes well, he has all documents sorted he will need. After that, the other cars should be fine.
I´ll keep you informed, if that is of use.
Regards,
Björn.
