From the plate that looks like the car that Clarkson took to task in his shootout with a host of others.

The plate looks like it could be M515 RCW which I think was the first Cerb that the press / Top Gear were let loose with (fitted with carbon intakes). The shoot out/Road test car was N244 KCW.

My car is an identical colour to that plus I have just removed the spiders and put those wheels on.

Thing I can't get my head round is that there is virtually no clearance between the brake caliper and the rim on the front.

Has anyone got these wheela on and can confirm the clearance?

I suppose someone may have changed my front disks or removed a spacer to get the spiders in, but would be glad if someone could feed me with the spinney

Julian- you've got a 4.5 which came with 320mm discs as standard, whereas the 16" wheels were intended for the 4.2 which came with 294mm discs as standard. I think that's where your problem will be coming from, as there isn't a lot of space to play with in the first place on a 4.2.

They fit, they turn, they clear, but the distance between rim and brake pipe is about two mm on the front and decent clearance on the rear.

If a stone were to kick up on the front and get in the right place brake pipe would go.

It a shame two because the small amount of running on 16's was nicer for my potholed roads with better ride and good grip. The spiders are obviously for summer and the track.

Can't you just engineer a little scraper plate to go in front of the pipe to save it from stone damage? the 16s look just right on the car in the pic smile
