I've got a bit of lacquer flakeage on the carbon fibre bits by the windscreen and boot. What's the best method of renewing them? Is there any particular lacquer that would be best?

Ah. Did you find a solution in the end, or isn't there one?

I did mine about 3 years ago, still looks fine. You have to take all the old lacquer off first, sand it down and then reapply the new lacquer. Leave it to harden for a couple of weeks and then rub down with T-Cut or other compound, to get it all nice and shiney.

Rear screen one started flaking a while ago, I got as far as stripping all the lacquer back and sanding it to a matt finish and realised I quite liked it like that so left it unfinished. Front window ones are fine so haven't done them although I would like them to match the rear ideally so will one day, sadly can't quite bring myself to attack them when they are still pretty much perfect.

What sort of lacquer do you use? I am in the boat business and to clear coat carbon so it looks cool we use a two pot epoxy sprayed or handpainted on you can then sand and polish so that it looks like glasse plus gives even more strenght to the part?
