From memory I don't think anyone has changed this yet. Background is that since fitting the race seats the clearance between the standard wheel and my legs wasn't enough so I've changed the standard item for a Sparco 310 wheel. I've managed to retain the steering button functions which was just a small matter of splicing the connections together. The wheel feels much smaller than the standard one and takes a bit of getting used to, but leg clearance is much improved. I thought I'd put up a few pics for those that are interested;

What's it like to get in and out of now?

I'm not sure about it, part of me totally sees the pratcical and safety side, plus it still works like the ould one.

I think it just looks a little out of place. smile

Not a fan im afraid, looks wrong with the rest of the interior how it is. frown

Please dont take offence though, yours is still IMHO a benchmark as the best Cerb 4.2 out there. thumbup

May I ask whats going on with the throttle pedal too??

I know what you mean about looking strange - cosmetically it isn't as nice, but functionally its better for me. Its the same story with the seats - they don't really fit with the leather interior, but functionally they're much better. Both easy to retrofit though, so no great dramas!!

Ah yes, the pedals - good spot! I set them that way as it makes heel and toeing easier - your heel doesn't need to move so far across. Again, works well for me but maybe not for others.

I've got my first proper trackday next Sunday at Snetterton, so will see how all these mods come together on track. Quite excited, just hope the weather holds.

Interestingly our Cerb runs with the wider brake pedal on the throttle pedal.. it works fine for H+T, looks odd, but its good. thumbup I did wonder if yours was done for that reason.

Fair play with the mods, what seats are they? I thought you were going for Imola S's? - these look different?

Enjoy the trackday! thumbup

How visible are the dials? The new steering wheel seems to cover part of the fascia.

So does the standard one if you position it right/wrong. I saw the switch pack you are using too, but cant find a steering wheel that leaves the cold air unrestricted. As usual a tidy job though thumbup

I think you will need to label the buttons for the next MOT. Might spoil the look somewhat!!!!!!!!

Interesting, take it the flat bottom of the steering wheel gives more leg room but, out of interest, do your new seats drop your backside any nearer the floor? I was contemplating some kind of aftermarket seats as I always feel my head is too near the side of the roll cage and would like to drop down a couple of inches lower.
