I've got a bit of an oil leak from my differential and wondered if anyone has experience of changing the seals?

Are there any guides around? - I can't find anything using the search facility.

I have to do my output seal one day, i have the part but have to muster up the enthusiasm to do it. Apparently you take the driveshaft off and leather the flange, you have to get the inner clip to relinquish its grip. HTH.

Thanks Brummie - so are you saying that it can be done with the diff in place (and therefore without dismantling it)?

Think I have a small leak on my diff but haven't had a chance to investigate further yet...

I take it the 'output' is/are the drive shafts to each wheel and the input is the propshaft from the gearbox...?

Replacing the propshaft seal is a diff out job then...?

If you have to take the diff out, have a reaaaaaaaaal think about it. Ours has just been done - by us, the car fought us every step of the way, from the wheel nuts to the bushes - there was a problem everywhere. frown

itie, will drop you a mail tomorrow night after the test day, as a result of the above, I havent got round to the tyre thing yet. paperbag
