Was watching 'Pimp my Ride' last night...I was bored...plus, sometimes they churn out something smart/interesting...anyway, last nigths was a TransAm...you know, smokey and the bandit...firebird...the wife glanced up and noticed the T Bar roof and said it was a good idea...

It got me thinking...I liked having the roof off the Chim and will probably miss the lack of top down motoring with the Cerb...thought to myself the Cerb would'nt suit a full convertible chop (proportions + roll bar) but what about a T Bar arrangement or similar...thinking along the lines of the T350T...

good / bad...

sorry if this has been thought of / covered before.

It wasn't trouble free in the T350t.

Yeh right...think i might do one side only to see what it turns out like...

Hey, just a thought...heres me thinking its another opening to let that gorgeous exhaust noise enter the cabin but judging by the lack of enthusiasum so far I am alone on this one!

chalk it up as bad idea and getback to refurbishing my outriggers...maybe it was the fumes from the paint...

My camp side/back side says Porsche Boxster/Peugot 206 cab..... Or old man with beard, hair like the guy in the photo booth on the old Hamlet adverts with a tartan rug in the back of the car.

My normal side prefers a coupe version of the Cerbera.

spoke to a chap with a t350t once and he said the wind noise was terrible with the top off, but would be interesting to see, what about the strength that the roof gives to the body structure, would that be detremental at all?

Hmmm...know what you mean...but then so long as you didnt cut back past the roll bar presumably the strength wouldnt ba affected too much...

I think someone should do this on a write-off shell and see what it looks like!

The good thing about the Cerbera is the fact that it's got a roof. Proper car. Why the hell would you want to turn it into a hairdresser's machine?

I've only ever had a TVR with a roof.....But due to driving it daily, with no garage or cover over it, I've done nothing but chase various leaks around for Six years.

What are the convertible Tivs like to own ?

I thought someone would have thought of it before...

Not sure about the hairdressers car comment just because the roof comes off...never heard of a chim or griff being referred to as one...?

Having said all that, looking at the pictures on the older thread it doesnt really look right as a proper T bar due to the position of the roll bar..?....maybe the T350T roof panels would be better as the side bits above the windows would be left in...? As stated previously however, I understand these are hard to seal properly and are noisy both when fitted and removed!

Lets just stick with the coupe format eh! Lets face it, its a stunning looking thing!
