It's pretty ineffective IMO, as it doesn't really protect against stones flying upwards from the tyres (where else are they going to come from?), but is quite effective at trapping mud etc.
I replaced mine with some old rubber floormats cut to shape (so the propery curve round the bottoms of the outriggers), with some eyelets that I bought from a habidashers pushing through, and then cable-tied the whole thing in place. Still doing a valient job of keeping the outriggers minty best part of a year on...

Know what you mean...I was thinking of making a copy for the near side but then thought I would be better off being able to clean the chassis, etc and hence not have one...?I replaced mine with some old rubber floormats cut to shape (so the propery curve round the bottoms of the outriggers), with some eyelets that I bought from a habidashers pushing through, and then cable-tied the whole thing in place. Don't get me started. The council have been resurfacing the road that leads to my garage, except that they dug it all up months ago and haven't done anything about actually putting new tarmac on.
I suppose I should be grateful they left it in a passable state at all.
It's only 100yrds or so, but at the slightest hint of moisture, it's an absolute quagmire.
