Just purchased my first Cerbera 4.2 AJP, Great car! I have run into some problems with my keyfobs not deactivating the immobilser. The stick works fine so i am able to go out for a run when i start to have withdrawal symptoms. I have had the batteries changed but still no success. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Oh its great to get a wave when passing fellow TVR's owners!

I am sure I won`t be the only one to recommend Carl Baker,Car and Bike Installations. 07720723407. He is based in Hampshire (near Surrey border)
Good having a TVR isn`t it! Welcome to the club. Regards Tim

There is a way to re-sync the fobs with the alarm system.

I forget, but someone will PM you with the details (obviously not post it here)

Enjoy,
D.

BTW - if not, Carl is your man - top, top, chap (PS - he'll tell you how even if he gets no business from you).

I suspect the micro switch in your remote has died. The TVR fob pushes on it off axis because the button is hinged on one side. Eventually the remote gives up as you have to push harder and harder on the button to persuade it to work. The upside is that the replacement remotes work from more than a metre away and you don't need to replace the entire system. smile

Yup - either the micro switch or the little plastic pin inside that grips the pcb/pushes on the button. I've had to glue mine in the past, but now have a new system from Carl after the siren died (always armed and sounding rather than failing off - quite annoying for the neighbours).

Not too much money to reprogram the alarm unit and two new fobs - something like £110-120 and the A272 is a nice road to drive down to get there.

Had to replace mine last week. Carl offers a very prompt service. The job is not cheap but a lot less than a mainstream car manufacturer would charge.

Thanks guys! I had the batteries changed and the gentleman checked the remotes with some electronic box which had a meter reading on it. Although one of the keyfob buttons has collapsed on the side, so you might be correct their. I will give your man a buzz as i have to travel on the A272 from Crowborough daily to work. Always look forward to a good burn though!!!
Thanks for all the help!

Do the fobs unlocked and open the doors?

If yes, you have 30 seconds to press the ignition button.

Can you start the car within this time?

If you don`t press the ignition in 30 seconds as you say then all you have to do is press the key fob once again and that will turn off the immobiliser again for 30 seconds. Regards Tim

Hold the door open and wedge it open! People have reported beening locked out doing this!!

Remove the battery lead for 30 seconds, then replace it.
Quickly but gently press and hold one of the key fobs for 10 seconds.
Then see if it operates the alarm/immobiliser. Sit in the car while doing this!

Try the other key fob the same.
If no luck then you really do NEED Carl!
