I seem to recall there was an uprated one available in the past. Anyone know where I can find one?

I take it you've tried the usual suspects (RG, Power)?

I can't see that you'd need to increase the spring rate, so I take that to mean a better quality spring?

Ive just bought mine from tvr power stores for £2.27, i don't know if its better quality material but it should have good tension.springyness compared to a used one.

It's for project AJP turbo and I want a bit more pressure at higher RPM. I can see on Google that Trackcar used to have an uprated one listed but alas that's not a lot of help to me!

If you take one out and measure it for free length, diameter and mass required to compress a few mm then you've got enough info to get one from Lee springs, spring masters etc.

Plus if you go for a stainless steel one instead of the TVR music wire spec then it won't go soft either

confused My understanding is the spring sets the lift pressure for the oil system and sometimnes the spring gets tired so it runs at a lower pressure and should be changed for new. the max pressure I think is around 70psi for the AJP8 which is normally only seen when the engine is cold at mid revs up or at high revs when hot, I'm not sure how the pump and all the pipes and seals etc would take to a higher pressure than that. Perhaps anyone that understands this could explain if it is advised to exceed the maximum design pressure confused

I agree with Harry, it seems to me you might want increased flow to cope with additional heat, but probably not increased pressure.

ETA: Worth asking Melling about Turbos on the AJP?
