chassis tube...
Discussion
bit of a strange one this...I have an issue with the rear ARB top support tube (divers side) on my 98 cerb 4.2...basically i need a new one!
where can i obtain one?
I have tried douglas valley - was hoping they would have a crashed cerb and they could 'cut' one off and send it to me..? They currently dont have any crashed cerbs, just fire damaged ones (check thouse fuel lines...?) so couldnt help.
alternative is to make a new one...anyone know the guage/spec of tubing used on the chassis?
is there any truth in the early cerbs having a different arrangement to the later ones..?
thanks in advance guys

Probably best as you say to just get one made up- just have it made at least as beefy as the one on the other side (it rarley hurts to over engineer!).
Your right about early cerbs being different- for some reason the early cars had the arb mounted just under the bottom of the car. Im not sure about any performance difference between the two setups, butr certainly I've never heard of any problems with the early arb's, whereas the later ones do seem to suffer from fatigue cracking on the arb mounts.
