Hi all,

I can't find the sump capacity for the cerb (4.5) from I thought it was about 6.5 litres? Is that right? I need to order some oil today.

Cheers,

Mark

Lemme know where you order from, as I need to do the same in the not too distant future...

It will be from these guys....

http://www.performanceoilsltd.co.uk/

They are not well known in the UK but a client I have used to test lubricants for shell and he said AMS was the best oil by far - he uses it in his F2 car.

Buy 7 litres, any good quality synthetic oil, of the recomended grade is fine. I use Shell Helix because it is widely available at all Shell petrol stations. (for those unexpected top-up's).

Think it's 5.5L - 6.5L is the RV8.

Just ordered 7 litres of 10-40weight. I was recommended this by the guys at AMS instead of the 5-40w I used last time because I no longer have cats in (the 10-40w contains more zinc which protects on start up but zinc degrades cats) They also said the slighlty thicker oil would be ideal as I have an oil preheater fitted. Its worth giving them a call they really do know what they talk about.

I use the same. The garage that had serviced my car for the last 4 years had been using Shell Helix so I have continued to. They do do larger cans but I'm not sure if they are 4, 4.5 or 5 litres.

The majority of Shell grades are available in 5 litre containers, but some of the more "expensive" grades are only available in 1 or 25 litre containers. Don't know why they do thatscratchchin, but then Shell do move in mysterious ways.

Amsoil oils are very good and we deal with Performance Oils on a regular basis. Silkolene Pro S 5w-40 and 10w-50 and the Pro R 15w-50 are very popular with the TVR guys we supply, but Amsoil is a very good choice

Austec said the same yes "any good quality 10-40W synthetic"
