Low speed brake groan

When rolling slowly or turning on full lock when the car is warmed up I am getting what sounds like a brake groan from underneath the vehicle. I notice it when really gently applying the brake or if the handbrake it left partly one. Anyone else had this? Could it be the handbrake shoes binding slightly?
