Certain sections of underbonnet hose and cable have heat resistand sleeve applied (4.5). This makes it more difficult to route the hoses and cables and makes the engine bay look rather untidy. I'm planning on replacing the hoses (coolant and fuel) and was wondering if heat resistran hoses are available and, of not, whether I need to apply so much heat resistant sleeve. If so, an recommendations?

I replaced all my hoses and re-covered it all in Aluminised fibreglass matting, It helps to get the rough for of the cables/hoses before sealing up. I would cover the pipe, get a rough shape then tape the excess heat shield down with foil tape.

You can by stuff called Fire Sleeve that PeterGUK (think that's his username) can supply. Very good stuff and quite floppy.

Just ensure that any cables you cover are well insulated at the ends if using any kind of metallic covering. wink

I replaced my fuel hoses with normal silicone fuel hose and coolant ones from ACT.
As far as heat shield goes, I replaced all mine with Thermotec products. Thermosleeve for the bigger pipes, and Thermoflex for the others (fuel, etc).

They can be found here: http://www.europerformance.co.uk/pages/products/ma...

There is another company that supplies these products, but I would'nt wish them on anyone. I used them for the first batch of materials and they messed up my order twice. Dealing with the managing director afterwards was just as taxing...
