Hello all

Finally getting round to looking at a couple of niggles that I should have done a while ago. Any help would be appreciated.

Firstly, the passenger door. (I have searched but could only find problems where the door does not open when pressing the button). The button is working absolutely fine, you press the button, the window drops and the door pops open.. well, almost opens.

The drivers side door swings out so you can open as normal, but the passenger door is either catching somewhere or is not being pushed open fully. It opens to half-catch. To open it you simply pull the door towards you as the window drops. Is there anything obvious as to why it will not open fully like the drivers door? I can't see anything obvious looking at them.

The second thing is that I believe I have an overfueling issue, so I will be hooking the software up to the ECU - just wondering is there anything I need to know before pulling cables out of the ECU (and figuring out where it all hooks up)?

Check how flush the door sits with the body work.

It could be that the pin on the door is too close to the outside of the door so the door is proud of body and thus not much pressure is exerted on the door-seals which will reduce the "popping" effect.

Also, check that the door closes smoothly, when you close it, does the pin catch on the bodywork around the catch at all?

A possible quick fix is just to grease the door catches, my doors started opening but were still on the catch, i had to press the button twice to get in, a bit of grease and all was well.

Drivers Side Door:

Passenger Side Door:

As marked in red the the passengers side is more worn here than on the drivers side. As you close both doors there is more resistance on the passenger side. There is still a little resistance on the drivers side yet this opens fine.

In blue, this seems to turn and has lots of movement on the drivers side but very little on the passenger side - also there is slightly more noise coming from the drivers side when the button is pressed (the drivers side mechanism is louder and sounds more forceful).

Also.. heres a quick vid off my phone.

See, if I press the button twice you get the usual sound but the door stays where it is.

Im going to grease it in a sec, its either catching on the mechanism is just not doing its job (how you test that I do not know wink)

Not being able to see the vids it sounds like your lock mecj on the passenger side needs a little lube first.

Tighten the three grub screws that hold the lock mechanism in place.

That should sort it for you.
