Wider rims possible solution

I have found a place that can possibly put a "split" rim on my RL's. Basically machine the outside edge off and bolt an extension on. 1.75" or 2.25" are the options. I've got to let him have a look but i like the idea of keeping the standard look but with more "muscles".

Under £200 a rim is the estimate.

Isn't wheel arch clearance one of the main problems with wider rims?

I know mine are just touching the bodywork under full compression and they're far from extreme.

This is where a slight flare comes into it, i did a few laps of Donny on monday, and the new 888's just cant cope after about 4 laps, just 110mph power drifts out of coppice, quite fun but i'd rather have more grip.

Like it! did you just use a fibre glass bubble and graft it on, or shape from scratch?
