Fixed door opening problem.
Discussion
Hi every one, I thought i would start a new topic for this instead of replying to all the other posts/threads.
It seems a popular problem at the moment where a door wont open when the door solinoid/actuator can be heard to operate. Having been demented over the weekend (4 hours) while trying to fix mine I eventualy found the problem which i think others may be suffering from.
1st thing, Marian / slvr cerb solution to "adjust a nut on the actuator" see pics by Spawn (i think). This is totaly different to mine as my actuator does not have the threaded stud or in fact the little link rod shown on the picture. Therefore there is no adjustment possible.
Secondly the problem on mine turned out to be a broken spring between the latch and the door mechanism. I have a pic to show where it is if someone could remind me how to load it up on here.
It is a pure dog to gain access to the spring. You need to drill out the head of the rivet that holds the back of the casing to the body, then you cant replace the rivet. However it still goes back together and gets held in place when you screw the mechanism to the door pillar using the three alen head screws visible from the door frame.
This spring is what throws the latch open when the solinoid releases the leaver holding the latch. On mine i could not see the spring of course because it was broken, that coupled with the fact i didn't know there was supposed to be one. Without it the latch through gravity wants to sit at rest i.e. in the closed position thus stopping the door from opening.
I managed to repare the spring by uncoiling a loop and reforming it so that it would work but i would only treet this as a temporary fix. The plastic part of the casing on my door mechanism is baddly broken and needs replaced, if your plastic is not broken you will not be able to remodel the spring as it will end up being too short.
Re-fitting the spring was also a bar steward because it wanted to uncoil itself of course.
To establish if this is the problem, when it is working the latch throws itself open. Check the other door to see what i mean.
If any one needs any clarification please give me a shout i will only be too pleased to help.
Remember i can post a pic if someone reminds me how.;)

Host the picture on something like photobucket.com
Copy the link and insert it in the post using after the link.
Such as (without the spaces fore and aft

At last got them up, (thanks FUBAR) not very clear but i hope clear enough.
If you look at the passenger pic (bottom one) you can see the hole in the latch with the end of what is the spring just about poking through. Whereas on the top pic there is nothing in the hole.
