POWER STEERING
Discussion
Hi there
had a similar thing with mine earlier in the year. Its almost certainly the UJ on the steering column seizing up - TVR conveniently place this in the front wheelarch, directly in the line of fire of any road crud and water!
The UJ is about £40, takes about half an hour to fit (assuming you get a dealer/indie to do it), or about three hours of cursing and scuffed knuckles if you try to do it yourself. My advice - don't!
cheers, hope this helps

Just had a similar problem with my 98 4.5 which turned out to be a sheared woodruffkey on the pas drive shaft. Apparently, early cars (pre 99) had a much smaller keyway thats prone to this problem. Luckily in my case the old woodruff key could be replaced, total cost was around £300.00
Im told that this is not always possible and if this is the case a new jack shaft must be fitted with a larger keyway, total cost of around £1k
Had mine repaired by APM but Im sure Joolz can advise further.
