Speed Six Cerb........Where do I start???????
Discussion
My bro is looking to but a 4.0 speed six and hasn't really got a clue about these cars...............me either.................Ive had a Chim but think these things are another level....................Wots the main things and common faults to look out for...............Any help would be great
You've got your usual Cerb things here in this forum:
Light control boxes
Outriggers
Lower control arm bush wear
Diff bush wear
Slow wipers
Mirror/door controls that don't work
For engine specific issues I would take a look through the Speed Six Engine forum as there's little info on that engine in here.

Just make sure you have a look underneath. Whatever you might find out about the engine, the condition of the frame is more vital.
Engine horror stories didn´t put me off a SpeedSix either. It is a very refined and capable GT, giving your brother performance figures no other car in that price bracket could. Not nearly. Just be aware that he will buy a highly specialist car, so service historie is a must. Best is, he puts some budget to the side, just for the case. Anyway, the engine pulls really hard when in proper condition.
There are currently some very nice colour combinations out there. You´ve seen the blue one from James Agger? I saw this one in flesh, brilliant car. James is a trustworthy guy, i already bought two cars off him, would do again any time.
Regards,
Björn.

I owned one of the first speed sixes...it went to the factory for a new fly wheel and came back with "piston slap" written on the cam cover??? The engine blew at aroun 10k miles
The drivers door de-laminated and the electrics would do different things everytime I drove it.
The gearnob used to get very hot and there was nowhere to put your clutch foot when not in use which made my leg ache.
The engine used to cough and spit when not being hammered but the factory changed the injection set up shortly after mine...I believe.
Having said all of that I could slide it for England and spent a really good day at MIRA on the wet handling area which was agreed to be the best car of the day in a very mixed company. I was pretty quick too.
