Have just replaced the weeping oil seal on the input shaft of my diff and scraped off about 2 years worth of burnt oil from the exhaust!

Reassembling now and couldn't find anywhere that gave the torque setting for the centre nut that holds the flange, that connects to the propshaft, to the diff. I've done it up to 100lb/ft as it didn't feel horrendously tight when I undid it!

Anybody know the actual torque setting?

Thanks!

If its a BTR i believe thats the preload nut & should be done up as it was taken off ...

Loose it isn't !!! When i replaced my seal, it was fking tight plus about 1/4 turn to get it back to the mark i put on the nut & shaft...

Hmmm, looks like I will tighten it a bit more then. I'll examine the paint that is on the nut and the shaft and match it up, that's a good tip, thanks!
